Started in March 2010, Maharaja Express bestows the most expensive train journey which is worth every penny spent. The train was smartly planned with meticulously thought facilities. Today, it has become a pioneer by redefining the luxury travel experience.
The luxury train oozes the extravagance and elegance of former Indian rulers in every bit. Showcasing great cultural heritage of India, the Maharaja Express promises travellers a journey to the bygone majestic era. A ride in this train allows them an opportunity to explore various attractions like wildlife, royal palaces and forts, mountains, beaches, monuments, desert, cuisines and fairs and festivals.
The well-furnished cabins of the train are equipped with extravagant facilities like LCD televisions, direct dial telephone, DVD players, Internet and environmentally-friendly wash rooms. All cabins have huge windows, which impress guests by offering the views of outside beauty. The two thematic fine-dining restaurants - Rang Mahal and Peacock are the places where passengers can relish appetizing cuisines like Indian, Continental and Chinese.
The luxury train gives passengers the glimpse of India’s matchlessness. While their journey to India’s most enthralling destinations, guests are entertained with folk dance performances at different halts. Board the Train at Delhi onto Agra-After a traditional welcome complete your registration formalities and proceed to board the train. Dinner on board.
Day 02/Sunday
Agra - Arrive into the 'City of Mughal Splendour' Agra to visit the exquisite Taj Mahal. Enjoy champagne breakfast over looking the Taj followed by free time for shopping/optional tour to Fatehpur Sikri or Itmad-ud-daulah. After lunch visit Agra Fort. Savour our in-house culinary delights at lunch & dinner on board.
Day 03/Monday
Ranathambore - Jaipur - Embark on an exciting game drive into the Ranthambore National Park. Enjoy lunch on board as you enter into the Pink City - Jaipur. Visit the Amber Fort followed by an enthralling exhibition elephant polo match with champagne dinner. You may want to shop for fine jewellery & textiles before the exciting match.
Day 04/Tuesday
Bikaner - Arrive at the desert kingdom of Bikaner. Take an optional excursion to Deshnok (Rat Temple) on Lalgrh Palace Museum of Camel breeding Farm. In the afternoon visit the unassailable fortress of Junagarh. Participate in a camel-cart procession followed by sundowner cocktails, barbecue and folk performance on the sand dunes.
Day 05/Wednesday
Jodhpur - Enjoy a relaxed breakfast as you arrive into Jodhpur. Visit a local village as a optional activity or relax onboard. Enjoy a waling tour of the Old Clock Tower Market and continue to the majestic Mehrangarh Fort. Later, savour dinner at an exclusive venue.
Day 06/Thursday
Udaipur - Admire the splendid landscape as you enjoy breakfast on board as you arrive into the City of Lakes, Udaipur. Visit the City Palace and Crystal Gallery. Experience the hospitality over a royal lunch. Proceed for an optional 'Walking Tour' through the Old Market or visit the Vintage Car Collection of the Royal Family amongst other activities.
Day 07/Friday
Balasinor - Visit the Dinosaur Fossil Park (One of the largest in the world) followed by a village visit and rounded off by a lunch meeting with the Royal Family to relish their unique cuisine.
Day 08/Saturday
Mumbai - Arrive at Mumbai and bid farewell to the Maharajas' Express after on board breakfast.

Day 1 - Delhi
Guests get to enjoy a traditional welcome and greet the luxury in a grand style at Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station.
Treat your appetite with a lavish dinner on-board.
Guests spend their night on the Maharajas' Express that leaves for the first destination in its Indian Luxury odyssey, Jaipur.
Day 2 - Jaipur
Wake up to a delicious on-board Breakfast as you arrive at the Pink City, Jaipur.
To take a closer look at the history of Jaipur, guests visit the ancient Amber Fort which is known for its artistic Hindu style elements.
Maharajas' Express is a leader in cultural tourism and we ensure that our guests don't miss the cultural essence of our country. After visiting Amber fort guests proceed to City Palace/Jai Mahal Palace for exclusive Elephant activities where guests may choose to decorate them with bright hues, feed them or take the regal ride. This is followed by lunch.
Afterwards guests return to the palatial comforts of Maharajas' Express or may also choose to participate in the optional activities that we provide in our Indian culture tours. Guests can choose from
Guests can treat themselves to an on-board Dinner.
The Maharajas' Express then leaves for the second place in its Indian luxury odyssey, Sawai Madhopur to bring you closer to the flora and fauna of India.
Day 3 - Ranthambore - Fatehpur Sikri
The world's leading luxury train arrives at Sawai Madhopur and guests proceed for an exciting Game Drive at Ranthambore National Park. The shimmering greens of Ranthambore are included in all our pan-Indian itineraries.
Guests can then return to the stately comforts of Maharajas' Express.
After an on board breakfast the Maharajas' express departs for the ancient Mughal capital, Fatehpur Sikri.
Guests can have lunch on Board as they arrive in Fatehpur Sikri.
Guests can closely explore the deserted city, Fatehpur Sikri where once the Mughal emperor, Akbar ruled.
Guests later return to the comforts of the Maharajas' Express for an on-board Dinner.
The train leaves for another alluring city in Maharjas' Indian culture tours, Agra.
Day 4 - Agra - Gwalior
Guests Arrive in Agra and continue their Indian luxury odyssey with visit to the monumental symbol of love, the Taj Mahal.
Guests can enjoy a princely Champagne Breakfast atop Taj Khema and later return to the comforts of Maharajas' Express.
Maharajas' Express then proceeds for Gwalior, a new destination in our mesmerizing Indian culture tours.
Guests can enjoy an on-board lunch and then proceed to visit to Gwalior Fort, Saas Bahu Temple and Jain Cave Sculptures or they can also choose to avail spa facilities at Usha Kiran Palace Hotel .
Over the years we have created a niche for ourselves in Indian culture tourism and afterwards our guests can visit the Jai Vilas Palace Museum followed by Hi Tea in the compound of the palace.
Guests later return to the palatial comforts of Maharajas' Express. Guests spend their night on board amidst comfort and luxury as the train is stationed overnight at Gwalior.
Early morning the train leaves for Khajuraho to visit the magnificent temples of Madhya Pradesh.
Day 5 - Khajuraho
Enjoy delicious on-board breakfast and lunch at our thematic restaurants- Rang Mahal and Mayur Mahal.
Guests can either return to the comforts of Maharajas' Express or may choose from optional activities
Arrive in Khajuraho and proceed to visit the Khajuraho temples (Western Group Of Temples), the beginning of spiritual escapade in our Indian luxury odyssey.

Guests spend their night on board at Maharajas' Express that proceeds for Varanasi, one of oldest continuously inhabited city.
Day 6 - Varanasi

Maharajas' Express arrives in Varanasi and gives its guests the authentic taste of Indian culture tourism.
In Varabasi guests visit the Silk Weaving Center followed by a sumptuous lunch at Taj Gateway Hotel.
Afterwards guests visit Sarnath ruins and museum.
Even in our Indian luxury odysseys we ensure that our guests do get to observe the divine side Indian culture, our guests enjoy a boat ride at the holy river Ganges to witness evening prayer.
Guests then return to the comforts of the Maharajas' Express and have dinner on-board.
The Maharajas' Express leaves for the city of royal splendor and relishing delicacies, Lucknow.Guests spend their night comfortable on the opulent Maharajas' Express.
Day 7 - Lucknow
Guests start their day with an on-board breakfast.
Guests proceed to visit Bara Imambara, Chota Imambara, Rumi Darwaza and The Residency followed by delicious Awadhi lunch along with the live Kathak Dance performance at Vivanta by
Taj. We believe catering everything with extravagance in our Indian luxury odyssey.
Guests later return to the comforts of Maharajas' Express and enjoy an "Indian Evening" followed by dinner on-board.
Then Maharajas' Express leaves for Delhi, marking the end of it Indian culture tour.
Day 8 - Delhi

Reservation / Cancellation - Terms & Conditions
Booking Policy:
25% of ticket value plus applicable taxes at the time of confirming the booking.
Remaining 75% of ticket value 75 days prior to departure.
Penalty Clause:
Deduction on discount 0.5% of the balance amount shell be paid if payment is made between 30 to 59 days prior to departure.
Deduction on discount 0.75% of the balance payment shall be paid if payment is made between 0 to 29 days prior to departure.
For USD bookings: The payable amount in INR should be credited in our account as per the rate of exchange
(ROE) of the previous day of the date (www.rbi.org.in) of transferring the amount by the agent.
Cancellation Policy:
25% of ticket value 60 days or more prior to departure.
50% of ticket value between 45 to 59 days prior to departure.
100% of ticket value 44 or less days prior to the departure.
Child Policy
A) For Deluxe/Jr.Suite/Suite Cabins
1. Children below 5 years shall be allowed free, subject to sharing of double bed with parents.This is subject to availability
of double bed at the time of booking.
2. Single child (5 years - 12 years) sharing cabin with adults - 50% of the adult fare, subject to sharing of double bed with
two full paid adults.This is subject to availability of double bed at the time of booking.
OR Single child (5 years - 12 years) in a separate cabin -50% of the(adult fare + Supplement charges) if requested in a separate cabin.
3.Two child (5 years - 12 years) in a separate cabin - 50% of the adult fare for each child in a separate cabin on twin sharing basis.
4. Three child (5 years - 12 years) in a separate cabin - 50% of the adult fare for each child subject to sharing of double bed.
OR If third child request in a separate cabin - 50% of the (adult fare + Supplement charges).
5. Single child (5 years - 12 years) + one adult in a separate cabin:- Two adults fare on twin sharing basis.
6. Two child (5 years - 12 years) + one adult in a separate cabin:- One adult fare plus 50% of the adult fare
for each child subject to sharing of double bed.
B) For Presidential Suite Cabin
1. Children below 5 years shall be allowed free, subject to sharing of double bed in PS.
2. Single child (5 years - 12 years) sharing cabin with adults - 50% of the adult fare, subject to sharing
with two/three/four full paid adults in PS.
3. Two child(5 years - 12 years) in a separate cabin - 50% of the adult fare for each child in a separate sub cabin on twin sharing basis
subject to sharing with two full paid adults in PS.
4. Three child (5 years - 12 years) in a separate cabin - 50% of the adult fare for each child subject to sharing of
with two/three full paid adults in PS.
5. Single child (5 years - 12 years) + one adult in a separate cabin:- Two adults fare on twin sharing basis in PS.
6. Two child (5 years - 12 years) + one adult in a separate cabin:- 50% of the adult fare for each child subject to sharing
with one full paid adult.
No show/ En route termination of tour/amendment:
# No Show - In case of No Show / Non-arrival of the guest, no refund or adjustment in future travel
will be possible. The whole amount shall be treated as forfeited.
# En route termination of tour - In case of termination of tour by the guest, for any reasons,
no refund or adjustment for future travel will be possible. The amount for unused portion of the tour
shall be treated as forfeited.
# Amendment - Is only possible under the circumstances like Natural Disaster / Natural Calamity or
Serious Health Problem's (this needs to be supported by doctor's certificate) and is subject to
availability. No refunds are possible and every case will be decided on merits on a case to case
basis. No amendment will be permissible in case of booking of groups or complete train.
